Taylor Swift inspired to pen song about the Kennedys In addition to writing kiss-and-tell songs about her bad romances, country singer Taylor Swift has also penned lyrics which talk about the Kennedys. The 22-year-old singer was inspired to write about the iconic American family after reading a lot of books about them, reported Ace Showbiz.

"She really just loves my mother which is so sweet. I`m a huge fan of hers, I have young girls and we had been to a few of her concerts. I met with her at one of them and she had read a ton of books about our family. She was inspired and wrote a song," said Rory Kennedy, niece of President John F Kennedy.

Rory, a documentary filmmaker and producer, recently invited Swift to the red-carpet premiere of her movie `Ethel` at the Sundance Film Festival. The `Love Story` hitmaker came to the event, which was attended by a total of 23 Kennedy members, in a cream-colored coat and a pair of boots. "The only time in my life I have ever been starstruck was meeting Caroline and Ethel Kennedy (Rory`s parents). I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago," Swift said.

In addition to writing kiss-and-tell songs about her bad romances, Taylor Swift has also penned lyrics which tell about the Kennedys. The country/pop music singer was inspired to write song about the iconic American family after reading a lot of books about them, so Rory Kennedy told ABC News.

"She really just loves my mother which is so sweet," Rory gushed. "I'm a huge fan of hers, I have young girls and we had been to a few of her concerts. I met with her at one of them and she had read a ton of books about our family. She was inspired and wrote a song."

Rory recently invited Taylor to the red-carpet premiere of her movie "Ethel" at the Sundance Film Festival. Upon arriving at the Park City in Utah, the singer was embraced by Ethel Kennedy. She came to the event, which was attended by a total of 23 Kennedy members, in a cream-colored coat and a pair of boots.

Talking about her love for the wife of Robert Kennedy, Taylor told Vogue for its February issue, "The only time in my life I have ever been starstruck was meeting Caroline and Ethel Kennedy. I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago."

She added, "She is one of my favorites, because you look back at the pictures of her and Bobby, and they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody. You know, 11 kids, all these exotic animals on their property. I've read a lot about them."

Taylor Swift Wrote a Song About the Kennedys?

Posted in : Gossips

(added 3 days ago)

Rory Kennedy and Taylor Swift: They’ve been quite the odd couple at Sundance, where the country/pop singer somewhat inexplicably showed up to the red carpet premiere of Kennedy’s HBO documentary about her mother, “Ethel.” On Sunday, Kennedy opened up about their budding friendship, telling ABC News Now’s “Popcorn with Peter Travers” that she and the 22-year-old Swift are so close that Swift has written a song about the iconic American family.

“She really just loves my mother which is so sweet,” Kennedy said. “I’m a huge fan of hers, I have young girls and we had been to a few of her concerts. I met with her at one of them and she had read a ton of books about our family. She was inspired and wrote a song.”

After that, Kennedy extended an invitation for Swift to come to the Sundance premiere of “Ethel,” and on Friday, there she was. Kennedy also said that while the family’s a fan of Swift, they themselves are not so musically inclined. ”My uncle Teddy, he had a good voice,” she said. “We are actually terrible, terrible singers but we love to sing.”

Taylor Swift talks “crash-and-burn heartbreak” album

Posted in : Album

(added 5 days ago)

Taylor Swift talks “crash-and-burn heartbreak” albumTaylor Swift talks with Vogue Magazine about her upcoming album, love life, future and feeling like an outsider.

In the latest issue of Vogue Magazine, Taylor Swift graces the cover and talks about the direction of her upcoming album, “There’s just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak, and that will turn out to be what the next album is about. The only way that I can feel better about myself – pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone – is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity,” says Swift. The singer also says of her future, “I fret about the future. What my next move should be. What the move after that should be. How I am going to sustain this. How do I evolve. I get so ahead of myself. I’m like, ‘What am I going to be doing at 30?’ But there’s no way to know that! So it’s this endless mind-boggling equation that you’ll never figure out. I over analyze myself into being a big bag of worries.”

Although the singer has sold more albums than many veterans she still says she feels like an outsider, “I think who you are in school really sticks with you. I don’t ever feel like the cool kid at the party, ever. It’s like, Smile and be nice to everybody, because you were not invited to be here.” The issue is on news stands now.

Taylor Swift Supports Ethel Kennedy Doc At Sundance

Posted in : Gossips

(added 6 days ago)

Taylor Swift Supports Ethel Kennedy Doc At SundancePARK CITY, Utah — The Sundance Film Festival is no stranger to seeing masses of unexpected celebrities flocking to the snowy hills of Park City, but that didn't stop the surprise appearance of singer/songwriter Taylor Swift from attracting a crowd.

The "Back to December" singer hit Sundance on Friday (January 20) to attend the red-carpet premiere of "Ethel," the HBO documentary chronicling the life of Ethel Kennedy. Indeed, a grand total of 23 members of the Kennedy clan were on hand, including the documentary's director Rory, daughter of Ethel.

What exactly prompted Taylor's attendance at the "Ethel" red carpet? According to the musician herself in a recent interview with Vogue, Taylor had an encounter with the 83-year-old Ethel some weeks ago. Describing the woman as "effervescent," Taylor said the meeting with the wife of the late Robert Kennedy left her feeling "starstruck" for the first time in her life.

"The only time in my life I have ever been starstruck was meeting Caroline and Ethel Kennedy," she told the magazine. "I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago. She is one of my favorites, because you look back at the pictures of her and Bobby, and they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody. You know, 11 kids, all these exotic animals on their property. I've read a lot about them."

Taylor wasn't the only non-Kennedy who showed up to the "Ethel" red carpet. Sundance founder and legendary actor Robert Redford also hit the scene to show his appreciation and admiration for the project — and to pose for a few photos with Swift.

TAYLOR SWIFT 2012 NEW ALBUM PREVIEW

Posted in : Album, Gossips

(added 7 days ago)

Taylor Swift might have been a touring machine in 2011, but she somehow found the time to prep a new album for 2012. Hot on the heels of her chart-topping ‘Speak Now’ LP, the country pop sweetheart is gearing up to release her fourth studio album in 2012. Although concrete details are scarce as of right now, the new album is said to be centered around a theme of sadness and heartbreak, feelings Swift is all too familiar with after going through a series of highly-publicized breakups.

TAYLOR SWIFT 2012 NEW ALBUM PREVIEW

While Swift’s past albums have included tracks about heartache and longing, there were always some lighthearted tunes to serve as a buffer. However, for her new 2012 album, Taylor Swift seems to be focusing exclusively on these types of sorrowful and pensive emotions. In a past interview, Swift spoke about the new album’s subject matter, saying, “[My albums] all seem to have a theme to them, the records that we’ve put out so far, and this one is no different. It’s very different in what it’s about, but it’s no different in the fact that it has its own name.”

Swift has also gone on to explain the tone of some of the tracks, saying, “They’re sad. If I’m being honest,” explaining that one song “is about moving on.” In an interview with Vogue, Ms. Swift also said, “There’s just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak, and that will turn out to be what the next album is about. The only way that I can feel better about myself — pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone — is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity.”

Back in October 2011, Swift said that she already had “25 songs” for her new 2012 album. She said, “I’ve written 25 songs so far, so it’s coming along really well. I’ve been writing a lot, and I like to take two years to make a record. We’re at the end of year one, and I still have a year left to go write. It’s looking really great.” So, if she lives up to her word, Taylor Swift fans could have her new album in their music libraries as early as October 2012.

Additionally, Swift has said that her new album will contain a lot of her own material (similar to past albums like ‘Speak Now’), but they she also had some help writing certain tunes.  “I’ve had two co-writes, and I’ve written the rest of it by myself,” Swift says. “Co-writing is so much fun when you have time to schedule it in, but for me, usually songs hit me in the middle of the night and I end up writing it before dawn, so there’s no time to call somebody. When there is time and you can get in a room and talk it out and work it out with somebody, it’s like the coolest form of therapy.”

Although it hasn’t been confirmed as an album track for her 2012 release, Taylor Swift released a new song entitled ‘Safe & Sound‘ with alt-country duo the Civil Wars. Swift and the Civil Wars released ‘Safe & Sound’ for the ‘Hunger Games’ soundtrack, so it’s likely that this slower-paced, ambient tune (whose tone and lyrics match up with the movie’s plot beautifully) will not appear on the track list for Swift’s 2012 LP. However, she could switch things up and include it — who knows!

Stay tuned with PopCrush for more updates on the new Taylor Swift album for 2012 once more details surface.

Taylor Swift's next album about 'crash and burn' heartbreak

Posted in : Album, Gossips

(added 8 days ago)

Taylor Swift always talks about love in her albums, but this time it’s going to be different. Sort of. E! Online reported the “Mean” singer’s next album is going to be about unbearable, devastating heartbreak. "There's just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak and that will turn out to be what the next album is about,” the country cutie told Vogue magazine for its February issue.

According to Us Weekly, Swift also told the mag that her love life is currently at a total stand still. "I got nothing going on!" she said. "I just don't really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now."But when it comes to previous relationships, the 22-year-old gave some insight into her short-lived romance with Jake Gyllenhaal.

"I'm not sad and I'm not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that,” she joked, refusing to give further details and simply saying that “[Christmas 2010] is a sad story!”Gyllenhaal, 31, broke up with Swift just before New Year’s Day last year. Back in 2009, Joe Jonas infamously dumped Swift in a very short phone call.

"The only way that I can feel better about myself," she said, "[is] pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone—is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity."She also adds that those relationships aren’t total losses.

Swift says that she’s learned that, "If someone doesn't seem to want to get to know me as a person but instead seems to have kind of bought into the whole idea of me and he approves of my Wikipedia page? And falls in love based on zero hours spent with me? That's maybe something to be aware of. That will fade fast. You can't be in love with a Google search."

She also told that magazine that she won’t put up with people who want to “put me down a lot in order to level the playing field or something? If you are threatened by some part of what I do and want to cut me down to size in order to make it even? That won't work either.”Swift’s first cover of Vogue hits stands January 24.

Taylor Swift's Upcoming Album Is Probably All About Jake Gyllenhaal

Posted in : Album

(added 9 days ago)

Taylor Swift is renowned for wearing her glittery heart on her sparkly sleeve, so it shouldn't be any big surprise that her upcoming album is all about a heart-wrenching breakup. The country singer tells Vogue in her cover interview that she's been inspired by "absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak." Interesting!

Taylor Swift's Upcoming Album Is Probably All About Jake Gyllenhaal

Also in music news, Rihanna's been waking and baking in Hawaii, Katy Perry teased an acoustic version of her latest hit on her Facebook page, LeAnn Rimes got a tattoo in her husband's honor, and Adele had the most-sung karaoke song in the U.K. with "Someone Like You."

  •  Taylor Swift comes across as some sort of Nashville Grace Kelly in her cover interview for the latest issue of Vogue, but beneath the sequins and matte red lipstick there's a girl whose musical inspirations are pretty transparent. She makes it so:

There's just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak, and that will turn out to be what the next album is about. The only way that I can feel better about myself—pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone—is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity.

Swift didn't say who, exactly, caused the heartbreak, but it's clearly implied in Jonathan Van Meter's piece that it's likely Jake Gyllenhaal, with whom Swift broke up during the holidays in 2010. When explaining her current love situation, she hinted, "I got nothing going on! I just don't really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now, and I'm not sad and I'm not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that."

Swift, 22, says she's learned there are some things she just can't put up with in relationships. She steers clear of men wary of her security team ("I don't have security to make myself look cool, or like I have an entourage. I have security because there's a file of stalkers who want to take me home and chain me to a pipe in their basement."), men who put her down (duh), and privacy obsessives ("People kind of care if there are two famous people dating. But no one cares that much"). We can't rely on Taylor to ever come clean with a name, unless she decides to fit another acrostic poem into her song lyrics again. That's always cute.

Taylor Swift aims at Jake Gyllenhaal on new album?

Posted in : Gossips

(added 9 days ago)

Taylor Swift aims at Jake Gyllenhaal on new album?Taylor Swift says her new album will be about an "absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak," prompting speculation in the media that the latest subject of her songwriting skills may be her short-lived 2010 crush on Jake Gyllenhaal. Swift, 22, whose "Dear John" song was seen as a bitter ode to ex-boyfriend John Mayer, told Vogue magazine that she was working on her fourth album, and is currently single.

The country-pop crossover artist, who famously wears her heart on her songwriter's sleeve, said that writing about past loves is a way to ease the pain. "There's just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak and that will turn  out to be what the next album is about," she told Vogue in a cover story for its February edition.

"The only way that I can feel better about myself -- pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone -- is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity," she said. Swift dated "Brokeback Mountain" star Gyllenhaal for about three months in late 2010 before their much-photographed relationship ended suddenly around the Christmas holidays that year. U.S. celebrity magazines claimed that Gyllenhaal had ended the relationship because he was unhappy at the attention the couple was generating.

Swift told Vogue she did not feel like dating at the moment. "I really have this great life right now, and I'm not sad and I'm not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that."Asked whether she was crying last Christmas, Swift replied, "I am not gonna go into it! It's a sad story!"Swift gave no details, but media speculation over whom she was talking about quickly fell on Gyllenhaal, her last known relationship.

The Grammy-winning young singer's previous romances with "Twilight" actor Taylor Lautner and singer Joe Jonas are widely thought to have inspired her songs "Back to December" and "Forever and Always".
"I think I am smart unless I am really, really in love, and then I am ridiculously stupid," she told Vogue. But she said she had learned some of the romantic pitfalls to avoid, including obsessive privacy.

"I can't deal with someone who's obsessed with privacy. People kind of care if there are two famous people dating. But no one cares that much. If you care about privacy to the point where we need to dig a tunnel under this restaurant so that we can leave? I can't do that," she said.
