A group of young Taylor Swift fans from Genesee and Orleans counties can’t wait for Swift’s concert tonight at HSBC Arena, Buffalo. They’ve even offered a tribute to the young country singer with a video that was posted to YouTube about two weeks ago.
Several of the girls — they call themselves The Taylor Tots, and range from 2 to 7 years old — offer an homage to Swift by wearing long blond wigs and holding guitars as they sing-a-long to Swift’s song “Mean.”
The girls are: 5-year-old Adi Norton, 7 year olds Georgia Luft, Miah Werth and Leah Bezon, all of Elba; 6-year-old Emma McQuillan of Barre, and Caroline Luft, the youngest at 2 years old. “The girls love Taylor Swift. They thought it would be fun,” said Adi’s mother Sara Norton.
The video, shot about a month ago, features about 4 minutes of the girls singing, interspersed with Swift’s singing and a collection of still photographs of the girls. The video ends with the group talking about what they like about Swift and what they would say to the singer if they got to meet her (most wished she could be their sister). Brenda McQuillan shot the video, the still photographs were taken by Laura Luft and Sean McQuillan edited the video, which is approaching 1,300 views on YouTube.
For the concert, a pink limousine is expected to pick up the girls from the Elba Recreation Hall to take them to the Arena. They are all planning to wear pink cowboy boots and special t-shirts they had made for the concert. Swift, a four-time Grammy Award winner, is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m.
“We will be sitting in the nosebleed section, but at least we will be there!” the Taylor Tots wrote on YouTube.
