In what seems to be an early Christmas present for Taylor Swift fans and Hunger Game readers alike, the young singer and award winning artist, has revealed her new song ‘Safe and Sound’, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Surprising fans, Swift tweeted the news and a link to the song. “Something I've been VERY excited about for a VERY long time is going to be happening VERY soon (and I'm not referring to Christmas),” she wrote, later adding: “And this is it, the big surprise... Go get it!”
Tweeting the link late Thursday, Swift’s new song will play out in the upcoming movie ‘The Hunger Games’, an adaption that stars actors Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. The flick comes from director Gary Ross, who also wrote the screenplay with novelist Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray.
The movie will be released on March 23rd 2012, and since early production has created some heavy buzz across the web as book fans await its arrival in theaters. Adding to the excitement, Swift’s involvement and new song has surprised fans, and as pointed out by THR, is a sensation across the web after only a day.
