Well, this is awkward. Not only is Taylor Swift’s new song, “Today Was a Fairy Tale,” featured on the soundtrack to unstoppable schlock-fest Valentine’s Day, in which Swift makes her big-screen debut alongside ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner, but the song was obviously written during the Taylors’ all-too-brief time together. Just listen to these lyrics! “Every move you make, everything you say is right”? “You’ve got a smile that takes me to another planet”? “You wore a dark grey T-shirt”?! Most likely, Swift’s realized her mistake, and is sending the track out now (it was released on iTunes this week) as a subliminal makeup signal. Jeez, finally. Oh, and as you’ve probably guessed, it’s a total jam.
